After spending all four years of my highskool at Graham, I've grown attached to it in a way I've never grow attached to anything before. The thought of leaving makes me instantly depressed, remembering all those who I've made friends with over the years and having to leave them.

I mean, sure, the college I'm going to is only 2 hours away from columbus, but with gas prices these days..... I'd need a hybrid. Plus the thoughs of many sleepless nights, physics, more math classes (in which I'm horrible at) sharing a dorm with someone I don't know who I might come to hate with all my being, etc etc. But that's life for you. Yay.

So.... Graduation, Prom, Cedar Point, Vacation, Canada, the end of my school year is to be busy. And not in the order, mind you. Tomorrow I have to present to the seniors [shudder], So I should probably get hyper on some AMP. I mean, I'm drinking some Cherry AMP right now and it's not really doing anything. I'm sleepy, I've got a headache, and I really want to sleep. Sleep rhymes with sheep, and sheep are fluffy! My Tails doll is fluffy! WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!
Yea... It's kicked in.

Well, I should go so I can finish working on my presentation! Think of it as a public diary entry... or something...

So as the title says, this is about rainbows, glowsticks, and music. Think like a rave type thing. You have tons of glowsticks, loud music, and rainbows.
Rainbows in themselves are awesome. So colorful and equal, each color complementing the one next to it and blending into one. The fading mist of a rainbow after a rain is like peace, beautiful yet fleeting.
Glowsticks are like neon spirits dancing, light seeping from them and trailing behind as the neon dances wildly to unheard music. Some casts an eerie light as it dances, a fleeting color so dark yet vivid that you arn't sure if it's real. Others burn a brilliant streak of color into your eyes as you watch it dance as if hypnotized.
Then the music flows in, lifting you up and freeing your soul, your body rocking and flowing as if possessed by some friendly spirit. You dance a dance of old, arms raised as in some sort of praise to some unknown deity or to rise something from the Earth. Of your own you move, seemingly forever lost in thumping bliss.

Why do I type this? It's like a childhood, memory fading yet so clear at the same time. We all need to remember our childhood, no matter how bad it might have been. Memories fade over time, like the way sharpie fades on clothes after multiple washes, or like the colors of a tattoo on your arm, color fading with age. It's good to revisit memories, what once was, but to also live in the present. Live for now, when the dance is still going and that rainbow is still there. Don't live for when that music stopped or those neon sticks dimmed and faded out of sight. Don't dwell on thoughts of peace when that rainbow has faded and a war is upon you, and don't swing to a beat that stopped years before. Live for the moment, heedless of the future, take pleasure in what you like, and toss aside the past like a broken CD.

And when you can no longer live for the moment, remember the times that were good, when the neon still glowed and the music still beat, not when everything stopped being and had been.

Live for the good times, not for the bad. Remember the past but don't dwell on it. Live for the future, but live for the moment as well.

What a bliss is to be had.

Penny Arcade

So today was Site Fair. Woooooooooooooooooo! I helped out. Yay. Now I'm blogging. Wheeeeee. Bored.

Anyways, the title of this post refers to a Comic Website of comics that make and poke fun at videogame.... and everything else in the know universe. It's awesome, worth a few moment of your time, and it makes litttle to no sense.
www.penny-arcade.com

Awesome.

So why am I here? Pat is setting it up at ISI for me to be able to work in the Factory with the 'printing press' and the screenprinter. I haven't had word on that progress, so here I sit typing this. And prinitng out things I think will be useful for my senior thing. I'm so out of it, I have no idea what I'm talking about. Sorry. All I know is that I need to gather things fast, and I need to work hard to graduate with a nice grade. Yummy.

In a world filled with uncertainty, it's hard to find out truth and lie in the crowd, all we see are half-truths and vauge words. Something can mean something other than you thing, and lies are easily covered up with more lies. Soon lying comes natural to you and all you know to do is lie. However, in the trade of lying, a good story is needed to be produced, making liers perhaps some of the best storytellers. Also in this trade there is guilt, buring yourself deeper and deeper in your lies that no amount of truth could dig you out. You feel yourself getting suffocated with the lies, the guilt making you paranoid that someone might see through your veil of lies.

Whats this to do with my Walkabout? Everything and nothing. So small the veil on someone and it's impossible to see. Perhaps there are deceit and lies within these walls.

Cinco de Mayo Celly!

So, I wasn't at site on Friday because I was helping out for Cinco de Mayo. You knew that, I was bugging you guys for a while out of pure boredom. It went great, though. Sold 4 shirts, was in the water balloon fight, got my face painted like the facial marks of Amaterasu from Okami, then I had to go to work. D=

Serriously, I think I ate something bad, I felt horrible at work. All I do is fry some fries, fry some Onion Rings, prep the chicken, make chicken and fish sandwiches, yadda yadda yadda, etc. I don't do much, but I had a stomach ache from her to Rome and my head felt like someone was ****ing it with a sledgehammer.

I wasn't in today as well, I still feel horrible and this time I blame being tired out while eatting something bad. I went hiking yesterday for 3 hours in Old Man's Cave and Ash Cave, got back to Columbus, went to Maddie's house, then hiked all the way down to Whetstone and ran around with a kite. Tracie didn't feel so good either, so i know its not just me.

Could someone comment the dat walkabout ends to me? Yea, it sucked. Anyways, on tuesday I worked for Lisa all day making badge sample sheets to be sent out. This included velcro, sticky notes, tape, stickers, badges, and other sorts of goodies. It took me all day to do it, and I didn't even get to finish. I did finish it yesterday, however, which gave me some free time at lunch to draw. Today I'm going to be organizing the storage closet upstairs, it's such a mess in there. You can't step anywhere without falling over something or other.... >.>

Tomorrow I'm not going to Walkabout, I'm staying at school to help out with the Cinco de Mayo (spelling?) celebration with Amy.

I've nought much else to say, old chap. More than here I hope. How was your weekend? That's nice, mine wasn't as good. Oh sure, I took and passed my Driver's Exam and everything, but I got three DVDs from the library and they all sucked. I actually started swearing at the Garfield DVD I got because at the good part it skipped to the credits. >.< I hate people for not taking care of things that arn't theirs! Anyways, I rant, sorry

Another week here at ISI, and I have no clue as to what I will be doing. I will most likely be with Kelly today, it's a Monday and I don't think it will be healthy for a drowsey me to be by a printing press or an ingraving machine. Hopefully we get to go take a look at one of the systems around the ISI building and I'll be useful.

On another note, How would we know if we are graduating? It would be pointless to pay the fee for the gown, cap, and everything then find out that we arn't graduating. I don't know, maybe we go talk to you? (You as in the respected Senior Advisor) I don't know, I want to more about it. I'm stressed right now with setting up for college, Walkabout, my job, family issues, getting ready to go to Canada and getting ready for prom. Cleaning up to move out from my home, etc etc. I wish you guys could help me out, even a tiny bit!

~ Tara

Fishies go pook pook pook

See, that has nothing to do with this blog entry. I couldn't think of anything else..... D=

How could I see myself here in the future? I can't. The layout of this buisness is that everyone has their own place, and me being here is like a pink sheep in a flock of black. I get to work, but that's really taking some other people's jobs from them. Even if they're little things, it seems to throw the certain job off the axis.

To come and work after School ended... I couldn't see it happening. It takes a lot to work here. Sure, everyone here has their own thing going on, and likes to prank each other, but their work is so in depth to the degree that my ADD mind would simple give up. I admire the people who work here because they have the minds to do these things, in which tells of why I wouldn't.

I admit, I love playing and joking around, but I wouldn't be able to be myself here. I have too much energy and a short attention span.

I would so not be a good match to be here at ISI.

Another Notice

Looking back into my blogs from before, I saw that the last one to get any comments to show that you (As in James) were reading it was in March. Please read these, okay? I work hard on (most) of them!

Since tomorrow, Wednesday, there isn't any school (And no way for me to get here for there isn't anyone here at 6-something in the morning), I won't be here and therefore no blog for tomorrow. I'll write it today.

Monday I really didn't do anything, I blogged, read a book, stayed with people here and there, ate lunch, tried to think of something to write, crashed, then left. Today I'm really hoping to go work with Kelly and learn the system better, but we'll have to see how that goes.... He'll be here... now, Sam (His wife) just walked in.

On another note, Angie just walked in! She was gone for a while because she got surgery on her knee or lower leg. She's been gone for about 2 monts and everyone is already like, "ANGIE! We missssssed you!". We have, what is ISI without Angie.

Well, I know this is kinda short, but I'm gonna go now and go intern with Kelly. I'll blog again Friday!

~Tara

So I've noticed....

When looking at my blogs, i realized that there are weeks with only 2 blogs in it. Where has my mind gotten too? I can understand last week, I was only there on Friday and such, so I consider the fact that 2 blogs were posted that day is cool. Like, uber cool. Yea...

I'm mad... no, not mad, pissed off! So I found out (And I don't know if I had written this before) that if the english Walkabout credit thing isn't brought up to a ME or higher, I won't graduate! What the hell? That's bull! I try as hard as I can to write these things and put down something that I think people will like, and for what? I know people are going to read these and I don't want to type for 40 hours about filing invoices that took all of 4 hours to sort and put away. I'd rather talk about the funny things here at ISI that has something to do with what ISI does as welll as entertains you. I know that's not what blogs are for, but why would someone rad this when it's boring, like a... I dunno.... triple Calculus book mixed with History 101 of... hm...The british sailing to American to settle for the first time. I wouldn't want to read that crap!

But I disgress (Is that even a word?)

Friday I couldn't do much, no one was in the factory working, and Kelly was doing something odd.... (It has something to do with a workout thing). So I was with Wanda, doing her comp stuff for her. She was nice and took me out to lunch... It was some... bar, but it wasn't a bar... it's in Grove City, the food was really good! After we got back.... I had a headache... I might have snoozed a second at one point.... I don't remember... I had to work that night, Drivethru window is evil! I CAN'T LOGIN TO BLOGGER AT HOME!!!! Getting mail from the mailman was more exciting than most anything in thos 3 days between Senior Seminar and now. On the first day I got my temps renewed... that was about it. By 11:00 a.m. I felt like I was slowly going insane, talking to the cat about something or other, listening to the theme of Tetris over and over again. By the time my dad was home I was on the floor in my room cutting through some fabric convinced that I was making a skirt.

Wednesday was a little better, I had decided to Blog, but NO! My dad had the cookies blocked on the computer so I couldn't log onto the blogger website. Fuming, I 'hacked' into one of the administrator accounts to get it running, but with no such luck. Getting bored with that, I messed with the firewall controls until I could play one of my computer games... while listening to blaring rave music. It was all I could think about, the beats that passed through the body and carried it away in a wave of darkness with neon glowsticks. Serriously, I even wrote a poem about rave music and sent it to my friends on Gaia. I got off the computer, played Dance Dance Revolution, then went into work for the rest of the day.

Thursday wasn't much better, I spent the whole day reading yaoi stories and listening to blaring rave music. All day. At one point (at 8:00 a.m.) I was going on about rainbows to a friend of mine. I don't know why. I kept trying to call Pat to let him know to pick me up Friday to take me back to ISI (Amy just told me to go ahead and go back), and I got frustrated at not being able to get ahold of him. Giving up, I headed to work where my already shot nerves were tested when I was put on Drive thru to learn how to work in that area. There's this buzzer that goes off, and it's really loud. I could litteraly feel my heart pounding away in my chest. Then the Icecream machine sprayed me with vanilla, and the strawberry syrup made a not-so-nice fountain of sticky on the floor.

I'm just glad to be back at ISI

Explain your experience at your site to someone who is unfamiliar with your walkabout

I guess I should start at the begining with a direct quote from my site's webpage.

"Identity (n): The distinct personality of an individual
regarded as a persisting entity; individuality.

Who are you to your customers? Identity Systems INC, otherwise know as ISI, was founded in 1986, originally called "Identification Systems, Inc.". As the company grew, the walkabout was moved from it's King AVE. location to it's current location on Stimmel rd. At the new location, the facility could easily support 60 people. With it's goal of to continue expanding, ISI is one of the top badge makers in the world.

At ISI I've had many different experiences. I've worked with people engraving the badges, I've watched how the information is put into the computer, I've run errands and I've helped promote the website and ebay store on the internet. The people here are fun loving, often willing to share a joke or two, and will make experiencing the way a buisness should be run in a whole different way. For anyone looking for a walkabout with many different experiences, I would recremend they come here.

Walkabout Wednesday

Welcome back to this... place of... doom... ._.

Anyways, today is wednesday! I'm soooooooooooooooooo sorry!

Anyways, welcome back to this blog that is my mind. I've much to tell and so little time. Let's start with Friday, shall we?
Friday was a busy day, filing and cleaning up cabnets for Lisa which took til Lunch, filing away some invoices and locating some lost ones, which took over a half hour, running errands for people, and then spending the rest of the day with Kelly and Sam, who were discussing a way to right a problem in the Made2Manage system regarding a section which wasn't reading the invoice information correctly. Everyone seemed in good moods for some odd reason.. I'm not sure what.

And now, here on Monday, there is already another tale to spin. It seems that Les' computer has gotten a virus, and tha said virus is trying to send out e-mails that Les hasn't wrote. I don't know the full extent of the damage so far, but I know that Pat is trying to fix it.

In the mean time, This weekend I got my hair cut. Everyone is kind of freaking out. Tracie woke up this morning and reached around my head to my neck and exclaimed, "You cut off your hair!" in which I replied, "Of course I did, where do you think it went?" She replied with, "I thought you had it in a ponytail..."
It's been an interesting morning so far... and I hope that this day only continues to get better!

Nymphetamine, song of life

Transitioning back into Walkabout is going smoothly, picking up where I left off, loosing the days to a blissful haze of confusion, running around like a chicken with it's head chopped off.... So much for keeping track of things, eh? Anyways. I've been up to the usual lately, organizing invoices, matching invoices to their sales orders, filing them away, mailing things out, helping people file various different thing, and also cleaning out filing cabnets of old files.

Of course, I also take time off to come and write here, check my TGS e-mail every so often, and take a laugh with other people when thet play pranks on each other. I don't really know what else to say about it....
Nothing else to say about anything...

Waking up, breaking out
This is what it's like to be free
Rip it up, tear it down
This is what it means to be free

Welcome Back Walkabout

The nice quiet surronding of ISI. Did that make any sense?

So much work to be done, 2 weeks left before I have to leave, will I get it all finished? That word means different things to different people. To some people, risk could be the possiblity of getting hurt while doing what you do. Risk could be losing the trust of people around you from you not doing something.

To me, Risk is losing it all.

James, you say I need to have a Walkabout with Risk, but if you just look on one way of what risk could be, you fail to see that doing everything has risk to it, everything. Forgetting to brush your teeth one night risks you getting a cavity, working a printing press risks inking your shirt, working as a teacher risks your students hating and making fun of you.

You say that being at ISI doesn't harbour much risk. You may be right, right now I'm in Sales. There isn't much risk there. If I went back to ISI I would be working with the printing presses, computers, etc, where the risk is a lot higher, the risk of screwing something up so bad that it can't be fixed easily and losing everything is there. Losing trust is the greatist risk in my mind when on a walkabout.

And to risk losing is a risk in itself.

Thursday.... YAY!!1!!Shift1

Good morning Dimsdale!
Wait...

Anyways, good morning. Today is Thursday, and since I won't be here tomorrow, I thought I'd post today!

Yesterday I continued to work on the filing, looking through all the piles and piles of invoices for the numbers low enough that I could file them away. Unfortunatly, I ran out of green folders and there were no more extra in the building, so some are on order now. This means I can't file for a while, unless some more invoices up to 70600 come in. Yea.

I like to file the invoices though. The filing cabnets are back by engraving, so it's quiet. You could really lose youself in your thoughts back there. Will the less ammount of distractions, you can get work done a lot faster.

I'm really upset that I can't come in next week. With no way to get to columbus, and not wanting Patrick to go way out of his way to come get me, I can't come in. Hopefully, when I get back, there will be more folders so I can start filing again!.

Location: Back Office, ISI
Listening to: Supersonic, I just want you to know

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://conleywalkabout.blogspot.com/2008/03/thursday-yay1shift1.html' title='Thursday.... Rainy, boring, and slow

Welcome back to another look into the insane world that is my mind.

Today.... yea. Basically, recently I've been working just for Jami, taking backed up invoices and filing them away in an old filing cabnet. Occasionally I have to make a new set to work with, the numbers in the cabnet only go up to 40400 so far. We have numbers in the 42000 thats coming in.

I really enjoy coming here for walkabout. The people are nice, helpful, and when I'm here the days pass in a blur. I don't mind being here full-time-ish, I just love coming and doing things that help out. I feel as if I'm leaving an impression on those who work here, a good impression, and to me, that's what walkabout is... about.

I don't have much else to say on this matter, however. So I bid you farewell for now.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://conleywalkabout.blogspot.com/2008/03/today-is-wednesday-rainy-boring-and.html' title='Today is Wednesday! My goal, more specifically, is to get back there and get into the tech department and learn new things. I've already kinda talked about it to Pat, and I've really talked about it to Les (He's basically the demigod of the company, like the backbone).
I expect to gain a good deal of knowledge about the Made 2 Manage system, how to work on the engraving machines (like programing them, fixing them, etc), and how to use Adobe Illistrator if needed.
An area of possible risk would be serriously screwing up the Made2Manage system somehow. Kelly told me that once he messed it up and they had to pay 300-400 dollars just to get it fixed. Another risk would be screwing up an engraving machine to the point where it wouldn't work. Going into the tech area has some serrious risks where a screwup could mean broken items and money from the own pocket.

Whatever goes, Mon ami!

Well, that little bit of French has nothing to do with anything.
The Big storm is today..... The song is quiet with piano at first, then it gets louder and more fastpaced halfway through.

I don't really have anything to really talk about today, so.... hm.... Right now I'm reading a manga called 'Emma'. The story ia about a young, beautiful maid in London who has falled in love with an aristocrat. William, the aristocrat, has falled in love with her as well. But due to the class differences they can't be together. It's a sad story, but I love it.

What else? I love it here, the atmoshpere is nice, but friendly. Just yesterday Les and I had a rubberband fight, in which Emilie joined in then ran away. It's like a giant family here and I love it.

I can't really think of anything else to say, so Ta-ta for now

Why to stay at ISI (And the tale of the hot sauce)

First off, have the magical tale of our stupidity and the the Hottest Hotsauce ever. Serriously, it's the hottest hotsauce in the world.

So on Monday Kelly brought in 'Da Bomb' Hotsauce. Wait, it was Tuesday. I was with Kelly on Tuesday, not Monday. I was with Les MONDAY. Getting back to the story. Anyways, Kelly was having people try it, and it was the smalles ammount too, like a tiny spot on your pinkie, etc. They started going on about how hot it was. So Les comes in and wants to have some. Kelly and I had some and decided that we didn't get any of the oils in it, so Les covered the opening with his finger. shook it up, then rubbed the sauce into his tounge. I told him it was a stupid moment (We were just now talking about it), and he says, 'It was a brave, manly moment'. Whatever, it was a stupid thing to do. Anyways, he was coughing for about 5 years and couldn't talk at all. That's not the story though. Later, and excuse my language, Kelly, Sam, and I decided to smother the top of a warhead with the hotsauce and then eat it. Yea... we're dumbasses. That shit burned! I couldn't swallow without my throat burning like crazy, the roof of my mouth was all about burn off, and I could feel the hotsauce burning merrily in my stomach a couple hours later.....
Not gonna do that again =D

Okay. Now, my reason and wish for staying at ISI for my fourth-quarter walkabout.

Identity Systems Inc. is a company that has many different types of jobs within it's walls. A good chunk of the jobs here is sales and accounting. Mostly I've been working in sales with different people like Les, Emilie, Wanda, and Jami learning the different aspects of how to work that side of the buisness, what to do, and how to do it. That alone, if I spent the rest of my time just in sales, would take up the rest of this walkabout quarter.

But you see, I really want to learn how the system works as well, which is more into the tech department. I want to learn how Made2Manage works, how a engraving machine works, how to solve computer problems and how to make things work the way that people want to. SO, I was hoping that for my 4th quarter I could come back to ISI and work with Kelly, Sam, Terry, and whoever else has experience with the computers and tech here so I could learn a LOT more. I have a feeling that it's gonna take me a good chunk of time to learn how the system works.

This really doesn't explain it, and I'd be happy to come in and talk to all of you about this topic. Because I really don't want to do PSEO, and there are many risks, both physical and mental risks (Like getting hurt, disappointing people here, angering the president of the company, falling onto the screenprinter, etc etc) here and I really want to learn a lot more here than I have time to do so.

So please, let me come in to talk about it because I really want to stay here for another quarter and learn the most I can.

Feb. Week of 25th (or so)

Okay! I got you message James, and that will go in the next post!

Monday I worked with Kelly, and I think before he got in I was working with Wanda. We ran around the building doing various jobs and spent a lot of the later day trying to get Shelly's part printer to work. See, the Made to Manage system put some spaces in the code so the barcode and everything wasn't printing out right. We never did get it to work right, and Kelly really doesn't really want to mess with the system and screw it up.

Tuesday I think I worked with Les. You have to understand, the days run together here, the experience you gain makes the days bleed together and you know you did something, but can't remember the exact date it happened. Yes, I worked with Les on Tuesday. We basically worked on some files, went and talked with people about quotes and such, had a lunch of beef stew, and worked on more files and paperwork after lunch. I think that was the day that... yes, Ally Anderson came in that day, so that must have been the day that Les accedentally ripped a hole in the ears of my hood. Tuesday was a slow day, maybe that's why it's so muddled.

Wednesday I worked with Jami in accounting. She showed me how to do varrious things with the Made2Manage system like put in how much shipping would cost for one thing, how to add and change tax for another thing. I'm not good with numbers, so this was a good experience to have. I want to work with her again so I can get better at reconizing things in the system and maybe file in some of the costs too.

Thursday I was sick. Icky icky sick. =P

Friday I worked with Les again and spent the intire morning filing every quote from January 07 to now into folders by month and year. That was really frustrating, I had almost made myself sick again doing it. But it makes me happy to know that I can actually do something lasting and worthwhile for this company like helping sort files. After lunch I took the new files from this year and put them in the right folders, or made new folders to put the files in. After I got the new files in there I had to go through and find the 08 files and put them in the new folders. That also took a while to do. By the time I left I had a good ammount of helpful knowledge on how to file things correctly. Also, I was very VERY tired.

That's for that week. You'll hear from me again next Monday. JA-NE!

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://conleywalkabout.blogspot.com/2008/03/feb-week-of-25th-or-so.html' title='Feb.
